February 13, 2025 – Buckingham Township, PA – Local Bucks County non-profit, Kin Wellness and Support Center 501(c)(3), which provides free care to the cancer community of Bucks County, is thrilled to announce the details for the Fourth Annual Be Kind 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run in association with the Bucks 5k Series.

This year’s race will take place at Holicong Park on Saturday, April 11 and welcomes people of all levels and abilities to participate by running or walking to honor, celebrate, and inspire those who have battled, or are battling, cancer.

Every year, hundreds gather to support our cancer community through this inspiring and festive community event.  Local survivor Chris Baccash will serve as the Official Race Ambassador and pace bike.  Guests will enjoy food, drinks, local vendor village and awards, as well as have the ability to purchase a treat from Spuddy Buddy Fry Factory Food Truck. The National Anthem will be sung by Bruce Roberts and played on trumpet by Skip Schenbaker.

Each participant will get a race shirt as well as a special takeaway.  Every participate of the Fun Run will receive a participation medal.  Awards will also be given to top finishers in each age category, as well as overall winners for men and women and Masters.

Kin guest Marisol Graham talks about what this event means to her, “Participating in the (Be Kind) 5K Race signified to me on a personal level that I was now fit and healthy again after a cancer diagnosis. Although I walked the course, I sprinted the last half mile to the finish line.  At the time of last year’s race (2025) I was just about finishing my medical treatments.  I thank all at Kin Wellness and Support Center, the staff, volunteers, donors and race sponsors for encouraging and supporting and ringing the cow bells for all of us-survivors, caregivers, family and friends.”

The course is an out-and-back, beginning in the center of Holicong Park, then out to Holicong Rd. to Upper Mountain Rd. where there is a turn-around, back into the park, finishing where the race began.

Last year the Be Kind event raised nearly $25,000 for Kin Wellness and Support Center.  This event prides itself on catering to both serious runners and those who prefer to walk the course.  The runners will be released first and then the walkers to accommodate everyone and keep people safe.

The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a family friendly 1-mile fun run, then at 10:00 a.m. the 5k will begin with runners and joggers positioned toward the front, and walkers in the back.  Participants are encouraged to show up at least 30 minutes before their event.  Awards will follow the conclusion of the 5k roughly at 11:00 a.m.  Special thanks to Buckingham Township and Buckingham Parks and Rec for donating the use of the beautiful park for this event.  We would also like to thank Bucks County Emergency Services for donating their time to be on site and our local Buckingham Township Police Department for managing all traffic and safety during the event!
